5” hand crafted Tibetan Singing Bowl with 19cm wooden stick
Singing bowls are played by striking the rim of the bowl with a mallet. A singing bowl sits with the bottom surface resting, and the rim of the singing bowl vibrates to produce a continuous 'singing' sound.
They are used for meditation, music and relaxation. In some practices, singing bowls are used as a signal to begin and end periods of silent meditation. The sound of a singing bowl is unique to each instrument. The subtle harmonic frequencies are a special quality caused by variations in each handmade singing bowl.
It can be said that Tibetan singing bowls may affect spiritual awakening. Sound from Tibetan singing bowls enable the brain to move into the Theta brain wave frequencies that induce deep meditative and peaceful states offering clarity of mind. The sound vibrations impact on the nervous system, engaging our relaxation reflex and inhibiting the stress or pain response. The sound frequencies restore and optimise the flow of energy in the parts of the body where this is required. As such, the sounds from a singing bowl, may have a direct positive impact on the Chakras restoring health and well being.
'If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. One reason sound heals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.'
