A little bit about us

Trading since 2011, Lotus Petal Gifts is an online retail store with a New Age and Holistic theme.

The products featured aim to encourage and support your journey to health and well being on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. They are, in their own unique way, symbolic of transformation, enlightenment, healing, purity and divinity.

The Lotus Flower is represented in many Eastern cultures and philosophies. It grows in deep muddy water, and when in full bloom is a beautiful flower. At night, the flower closes and sinks underwater. At dawn it rises and opens again.

Since the beginning, we have enjoyed a strong reputation for holistic gifts. Now from 2017 we are excited to expand our product range amongst others to focus on the New Age and introduce our NeoWicca range.

There are many definitions and meanings attributed to Paganism and Wiccan cultures. We may refer to ‘Pagan’ as someone who follows a spiritual path that is rooted in nature, the cycles of the season, and astronomical markers. This may be referred to as ‘earth-based religion’. Wicca is considered a spiritual path within the heading of Paganism.

Each system has its own unique set of beliefs and practice. Many Pagans accept the use of magic as part of spiritual growth. This may be enabled via prayer, spellwork, or ritual. In general there is an acceptance that magic is a useful skill set to have. Guidelines for what is acceptable in magical practice will vary from one tradition to another. There may also be a belief in the spirit world, polarity between male and female, the existence of the Divine in some form or other, acceptance of diverse belief systems and in personal responsibility.

The term NeoWicca (which essentially means ‘new Wicca’) is used to distinguish between traditional forms of Wicca. The term is not meant to imply any inferiority to traditional definitions, simply that a NeoWiccan is practicing something newer and therefore different. It can therefore be implied, that someone who follows an eclectic path of magical practice, in which they incorporate practices and beliefs from a variety of different systems, would be considered NeoWiccan.

Other aspects of practicing NeoWicca, may include:

- Fluidity of practice: Many NeoWiccans follow a set of beliefs and practices that are adjustable and adaptable to the needs and wants of the practitioner.

- Inclusion of other metaphysical disciplines such as Feng Shui, Reiki, Yoga and holistic practice

Lotus Petal Gifts recognises there are many spiritual journeys that individuals follow. Whatever your persuasion, it is the practice and the beliefs that you honour rather than the label that should define your path.
